Ammes beach is a very popular beach in the area of Svoronata.
There is soft sand underfoot, an abundance of sunbeds for hire, a beach bar playing music, as well as some good tavernas nearby. There is a rocky area at one end making it great for snorkelling too.
As well as all these facilities, there is also plentiful parking. However, what makes Ammes beach really stand out is its proximity to the airport runway and its position on the flight path of landing aircraft. During the peak summer months of July and August it is not uncommon to see perhaps 15-20 flights per day coming in to land.
