Svoronata is a sprawling village not too far from the airport, set amongst acres of olive groves. It is a quiet, relaxing place to stay with plenty of tavernas and bars to choose from.
Due to the layout of the village you may want to consider hiring a car, unless of course you enjoy walking and are able to do so.
There is a bus service throughout the summer months which we believe has become more reliable in recent years.
The area around Svoronata is a beach goers paradise, the closest beaches are Ammes, Avithos and Ai Helis and on warm summer nights it is not uncommon for there to be the occasional beach party.
There is also a good selection of tavernas to choose from and if you fancy an authentic Greek fishing trip, Fishing Tourism Kefalonia ‘Michalis’ is located nearby.
John.H ”Assos is picture postcard pretty with beautifully clean, calm water for swimming and a small but excellent selection of friendly tavernas. It was the perfect setting for a chilled villa holiday…..
….. We enjoyed going to the butchers in the hills where we bought meat for the BBQ and fresh feta from the barrel. Greek holidaying at its best”
Sara ”We visited Assos for a day and absolutely loved it, so picturesque, just beautiful. We plan to stay for a couple of nights next time we go to Kefalonia”
