Petanoi beach is a secluded beach in the north west of the Paliki peninsula. It is almost 4km down a winding road from the nearest village Vovikes, but it is well worth a visit if you are in the area. You can also take a track down to the beach from the neighbouring village of Vilatoria. This way down is only 1.7km long, but the track can be tricky in places, especially if you’re carrying your beach equipment and it’s hot.
The beach is made up of small pebbles and there are some rocks scattered around at each end. There are also some rocks on the seabed near the shoreline which makes it an excellent beach for snorkelling. Sunbeds are available to hire on this beach.
There are a couple of tavernas behind the beach and a beach bar at the north-most end.
As it is west facing with unobscured views out into the Ionian sea, it is an ideal beach to sit and watch the sunset.
